Vintage Stenciled Silk Kimono - Vintage Japanese Kimono Robe H1412
Hand stitched by kimono makers in Japan.   This is a women's robe and it is fully lined.   It's silk crepe, flowing and in excellent condition.
The fabric is chirimen silk, which has a twist in the weave, making it slightly spongy, rather than smooth and silky.  This is a lovely squash color with tiny green, gold and brown floral and woodland patterns.
The lining is off-white silk with a shaded border of salmon.  The lining is clean without tears or marks.
Measures 51" from sleeve tip to tip and 53" from back neck to the hem.
Chest is 48", hip is 48", sleeve length from shoulder seam to wrist is 12.5" and the drop from the shoulder to the bottom edge is 19".
Kimono are very long because in Japan they take a horizontal tuck at the waist and wrap the fabric with the obi to keep it in place.   Here you may have to hem it to wear easily.
Properly wrapped this would fit about a size 14-16 but you could wear it overlapped more loosely or completely open over pants.   It is difficult for me to tell the exact size because I am smaller.
You can also display this backwards on the wall with a rod and open the bottom in a fan shape to get a full view.
